Head to head
Managerless Las Palmas play host to Real Betis in La Liga on Sunday. Read our Spanish football predictions to find out why an away win is the betting tip in Gran Canaria. La UD were under the cosh for most of last week’s 2-2 draw at Real Sociedad and that result was not enough to spare Pako Ayestaran his job. Los Verdiblancos have gone off the boil in recent weeks but will see this as the ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways.
Las Palmas vs Real Betis Preview
Las Palmas are still searching for a new head coach, so a little guesswork is required here. Vitolo picked up an injury midweek in the cup, meaning he joins Alen Halilovic, Momo and David Garcia in the treatment room. Mauricio Lemos should be fit to play at centre-back and Ousmane Tannane is likely to return on the left wing.
Real Betis welcome back Aissa Mandi from suspension and he should come straight back into the heart of defence. An ongoing knee problem for Antonio Sanabria should result in Sergio Leon starting up-front while Fabian Ruiz has an achilles problem and will make way for Victor Camarasa in midfield. Zouhair Feddal and Joel Campbell are definitely out injured for the visitors.

Las Palmas vs Real Betis Prediction
Las Palmas have only seemed to come out and play after going behind in recent matches, so it’s little wonder they have seven of their last eight La Liga games at home. The 2-3 Copa del Rey defeat to Deportivo la Coruna was the final nail in the coffin for Ayestaran who leaves the club in the relegation zone.
Real Betis began the campaign brightly but have looked a little leggy in recent weeks. They suffered a 5-3 defeat to second-tier Cadiz in the Copa del Rey and will be looking to put that behind them with a good performance here. Qualification for the Europa League is a real possibility of this side, if they can get some consistent results.
What we have here, is two decent attacking sides with absolutely terrible defences. It’s the recipe for an entertaining, if not chaotic match and there should be goals-galore. The tip is for Betis to come out on top in a thrilling spectacle.
