Leeds United take on Aston Villa in a televised Championship match this Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why a draw is the betting tip at Elland Road. The Peacocks were knocked out of the EFL Cup on Tuesday, going down 2-0 away to Liverpool. Aston Villa have had a few extra recovery days and were last in action on Saturday when they enjoyed a 3-1 home victory over Cardiff City.

Leeds United vs Aston Villa Preview

Leeds welcome back Pontus Janssen from suspension and he will come straight back in at centre-back. Eunan O’Kane has an ongoing pelvic problem but should take his place alongside Ronaldo Vieira in midfield. Pablo Hernandez remains sidelined with the hamstring injury and skipper Liam Bridcutt is out with a fractured foot.

Aston Villa will be without in-form centre-back Nathan Baker who has a groin problem. He joins fellow defenders Micah Richards and Ritchie De Laet on the sidelines, leaving the visitors a little light at the back. Ross McCormack is not fit to face his former club, so Jordan Ayew will lead the line.

Leeds United vs Aston Villa Prediction

Leeds United are in contention for a playoff spot after a good run of form resulted in them shooting up the table. Garry Monk has his side playing well and they’ve lost just once in 6 Championship matches, a 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle. They bounced back from that setback to win 1-2 away at Rotherham United last weekend and gave a good account of themselves through the week against Liverpool.

Things are also looking up at Villa Park, with the club still unbeaten since Steve Bruce took the helm. The Villans are now just 4 points off the playoffs ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. Aston Villa drew 1-1 away to high-flying Brighton prior to winning in good style against Cardiff last time out.

As indicated by recent stats, both sides have been involved in relatively low-scoring games of late. Leeds have been particularly impressive at home but were beaten by Newcastle in the latest match at Elland Road. Aston Villa will present another tough challenge but have drawn their last two away games 1-1 and with both sides likely to cancel each other out, that’s the tip here.
