Liverpool vs Leeds United Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
Premier League title contenders Liverpool entertain Championship side Leeds United in the EFL Cup this Tuesday. Read the match predictions to find out why a home win is the betting tip at Anfield. The Reds come into this game on the back of a 2-0 home victory over Sunderland while the Peacocks won 1-2 away to Rotherham.
Liverpool vs Leeds United Preview
Liverpool expect to have Adam Lallana back soon but he’s unlikely to be involved here, with Daniel Sturridge also a doubt through injury. Philippe Coutinho is definitely out with an ankle injury sustained in the win over Sunderland. The likes of Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno, Ragnar Klavan and Lucas will hope to see some game time in this cup game.
Leeds will restore Pontus Jansson to the back four after his suspension. Liam Bridcutt and Pablo Hernandez remain sidelined through injury, so Garry Monk is unlikely to make any major changes to his side. Chris Wood will lead the line for the visitors and is likely to become isolated with the hosts expected to do most of the pressing.

Liverpool vs Leeds United Prediction
Liverpool needed to be patient against Sunderland but held their nerve to get 3 points. Divock Origi scored after coming on as a substitute in that match and is likely to feature from the start here. The Reds haven’t lost since the second game of the season and go into this match as heavy favourites.
Leeds have been playing well in the Championship, with a 0-2 defeat at home to Newcastle the only blot on their copybook in recent weeks. They’re up to fifth in the table and mixing it up with the sides pushing for a playoff berth but this will be the toughest assignment they have faced in a very long time.
Jurgen Klopp’s men should win this easily and he can bring on quality replacements from the bench if things aren’t going their way. It’s interesting that Liverpool have kept back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season and I can see them preventing Leeds from scoring here. With little value in the match odds, a bet on the hosts to win with a clean sheet could be the way to go.
