Luxembourg vs Netherlands Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
Netherlands travel to face Luxembourg in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday. Read the match predictions to find out why an away win is the betting tip in this Group A encounter. Luxembourg come into this on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Belarus while Netherlands need to bounce back after losing 0-1 at home to France.
Luxembourg vs Netherlands Preview
Luxembourg are without defender Dirk Carlson after he was sent off in the draw with Belarus. Chris Philipps could come in for the suspended player here, although Maxime Chanot is another option. Defender Pit Simon is in line to win his first cap at the tender age of 16. The side will be skippered by Lierse striker Aurélien Joachim.
Netherlands could hand an international debut to Sporting defender Marvin Zeegelaar. Everton’s Maarten Stekelenburg is expected to continue in goal, with Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk a commanding presence in central defence. Davy Klaassen excells in the hole and will supplement an attack featuring Vincent Janssen and Arjen Robben.

Luxembourg vs Netherlands Prediction
Luxembourg got their campaign underway with a real swashbuckling encounter away to Bulgaria but unfortunately came off worst in the 4-3 thriller. They then gave a good account of themselves despite losing 0-1 at home to Sweden and the draw in Belarus gave them their first point but was not enough to lift them off the bottom of the table.
Netherlands could only draw 1-1 away to Sweden in their opening match but were good value for their subsequent 4-1 triumph over Belarus. A long-range shot from Paul Pogba proved to be the difference when Oranje hosted France in their most recent competitive fixture and they looked in good shape when holding Belgium to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match through the week.
As much as Luxembourg have been playing well by their standards, this will be a tall order for them. The likes of Arjen Robben and Davy Klaassen could run rings around them if Netherlands get into an attacking groove. I can’t see anything other than one way traffic here and a comfortable away win.
