Malaga play host to Sevilla in a live La Liga match this Monday night. Read the match predictions to find out why a draw is the betting tip at La Rosaleda. Malaga won their last match 0-2 away at Granada while Sevilla were 2-1 winners at home to Celta Vigo.
Malaga vs Sevilla Preview
Malaga will be missing Youssef En-Nesyri who is suspended after being sent off in the win over Granada. Miguel Torres will deputise for injured right-back Roberto Rosales while Chory Castro looks set for a start on the left-wing, with Jony doubtful. Zdravko Kuzmanovic, Bakary Koné, Juanpi and Adalberto Peñaranda are all out injured for the hosts.
Sevilla will again be without long-term absentees Benoît Trémoulinas and Michael Krohn-Dehli but Samir Nasri should start after providing an assist from the bench last time out. Pablo Sarabia and Joaquin Correa will play on the flanks, with Vitolo not expected to recover from injury. Mariano is also doubtful which should see Gabriel Mercado deputise at right back.

Malaga vs Sevilla Prediction
Malaga have made a good go of things despite a raft of injuries and have won four of their last five La Liga matches. That form has ensured that they won’t be relegated and can now focus on finishing as high up the table as possible. Los Boquerones have won back-to-back home matches and will be looking to make it three in a row here.
Sevilla will be keen to keep the pressure on Atletico Madrid in the race to finish third. Los Blanquirrojos are unbeaten in four La Liga matches but must improve on their away form to stay in the hunt. The home side don’t tend to give much away, so Sevilla will need to find away to break them down.
Malaga have kept an impressive five clean sheets in their last seven La Liga matches. With few goals conceded, it’s little surprise that each of those games produced under 2.5 goals. Sevilla have a good record against Malaga having avoided defeat in the last five meetings. This looks like being a stalemate to me.

La Liga football tips – Malaga vs Sevilla prediction
Malaga will have to make do without Ignacio Camacho and Flavio Ferreira for this opening fixture of the Spanish top flight. However, that’s the only injury concerns for the home team and they may start with a brand new strike force from last season, with new signings Charles and Duje Cop forming a partnership up-front.
Sevilla also have a couple of injury concerns with Nico Pareja and Daniel Carrico both out. Despite missing the European Super Cup match against Barcelona, Timothee Kolodziejczak, Adil Rami and Steven N’Zonzi should all make the starting XI for this match. Yevhen Konoplyanka will play just off Kevin Gameiro, who may have the opportunity to play as the main striker for Sevilla this season.
Possible Line-ups
Malaga: 4-4-2 formation: Kameni; Rosales, Albentosa, Angeleri, Boka; Amrabat, Tissone, Darder, Duda; Charles, Cop
Sevilla: 4-2-3-1 formation: Rico; Coke, Rami Kolodziejczak, Tremoulinas; N’Zogbia, Krychowiak; Banega, Vitolo, Konoplyanka; Gameiro

This is a great game to start the 2015/16 La Liga season, with Malaga coming in to it showing some decent form in their last three friendly games. However, it will take a big effort for them to improve on last season’s finish of 9th in the table and they could find themselves in mid-table again, come the end of the season. That being said, this match is a great opportunity to defeat one of Spain’s top teams and gain some early season confidence.
Sevilla have already tasted a competitive fixture this season and did well to come back against Barcelona in the European Super Cup. In a match that could easily become a humiliating defeat, Sevilla pulled the match around and could have won it. This season, it will be interesting to see how they combine La Liga with the increasing quality of the Champions League, as opposed to the Europa League in mid-week.
Sevilla will see this a chance to get 3 points on the board early, before hosting Atletico Madrid next weekend.
