Premier League football tips – Man Utd vs Man City prediction.

This weekend’s feature game sees the Manchester rivals face up at Old Trafford. Manchester United have been impressive recently, winning three games in a row which includes picking up a 3-1 home victory last weekend against Aston Villa as Ander Herrera ran the show, while Manchester City suffered a shock loss away at Crystal Palace.

Probable Line-ups

Man Utd: 4-1-4-1 formation: De Gea; Blind, Rojo, Jones, Valencia; Carrick; Young, Herrera, Fellaini, Mata; Rooney

Man City: 4-4-2 formation: Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Clichy; Milner, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva; Bony, Aguero

On average per game over the last 10, United have scored 2 goals, conceding 0.9, while City have scored 1.8 and conceded exactly a goal a game.

United have also been involved in seven out of their last 10 games to see more than 2.5 goals, whilst Manchester City have been involved in six, so this one should have some goals.

It’s going to be a fiercely contested game, City’s poor form has seen them drop below their arch rivals into fourth place and they will need to pick up at least a point if they hope to leap frog United, however they will be gunning for all three.

The last time the two met, Chris Smalling was sent off for two bookable offences and Sergio Aguero scored a second half winner which saw City win 1-0 at the Etihad.

This time around is going to be really tense, Pellegrini is likely going to be sacked at the end of the season after what looks to be a failure of a season, so whether he can motivate his players enough to go and win the game is something that’s set to be key.

There hasn’t been a draw in this fixture for five years, which is unbelievable.
