After going on a six-game unbeaten streak, Leicester suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Everton and were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Swansea. Manager Claude Puel would have been hoping to make the trip to the Etihad in slightly better form but their recent results and drama with Riyad Mahrez will make taking anything away from the game on Saturday a big ask.
Riyad Mahrez has reportedly not been seen at training since his failed move to Saturday’s opponents Manchester City. Mahrez was desperate to move to City but Leicester refused to sell him in the January transfer window. It remains to be seen whether or not the situation will be resolved in time for Saturday with Leicester likely to be travelling without The Algerian international.
Manchester City were unfortunate not to come away with three points in their last match away to Burnley. Their impressive form this season under the management of Pep Guardiola has seen them take a 13-point lead at the top of the table, ahead of their Manchester rivals in second place.
