Manchester United vs Wolfsburg Prediction and Preview – 30/09/15
Champions League preview – Manchester United vs Wolfsburg prediction
Luke Shaw is the only definite absentee for Manchester United after the bad injury the left-back picked up at PSV. With Marcos Rojo also doubtful, Louis van Gaal could go with the same back four which started at the weekend. Bastian Schweinsteiger may come in to central midfield to partner Morgan Schneiderlin.
Wolfsburg could be without key holding midfielder Luiz Gustavo, who is injured. Vieirinha, Koen Castells and Robin Knoche are also struggling to make it and the starting XI could reflect closely to that which drew 1-1 at home to Hannover on the weekend.
Possible Line-ups
Manchester United: 4-2-3-1 formation: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Darmian; Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger; Mata, Rooney, Depay, Martial
Wolfsburg: 4-2-3-1 formation: Benaglio; Trasch, Naldo, Dante, Rodriguez; Guilavogui, Arnold; Caligiuri, Draxler, Schurrle; Dost

Prediction
After losing their opening Champions League group game at PSV, Manchester United are under pressure to take maximum points from this one. Following that defeat in Holland, the Red Devils have won all of their 3 domestic games, scoring 9 goals in the process. The presence of Anthony Martial up-front, seems to have added another dimension to Manchester United’s attacking play.
Wolfsburg come in to this match with 3 points to their name, thanks to their 1-0 over CSKA Moscow on match day one. However, the 5-1 thumping at Bayern Munich and the 1-1 draw at home to Hannover was less than ideal preparation for this game and Wolfsburg have fallen out of form over the past week. That being said, they still have the players capable of causing Manchester United problems going forward.
It’s not often that Manchester United lose home Champions League games, the last time being to Real Madrid in 2013. Wolfsburg may find the back of the net but Manchester United should have enough to win.
