Middlesbrough vs Wolves Preview
Middlesbrough are on a great run at the moment and are unbeaten in their last six games. They found the net three times in four of those matches and are looking like a side which can remain in the playoff places for a chance to return to the Premier League next term.
Tony Pulis’s side currently occupy the last of the playoff spots in sixth place. They’re level on points with Derby who are in fifth and sit beneath them only with a -3 goal difference. Fulham and Villa who claim the other two playoff spots are currently on 69 points and so it seems as though it will be a battle between six teams as to who can grab one of the last two remaining spots. Boro are being chased by Bristol City, Preston, Sheff Utd and Millwall, all of which are in distance of causing them to remain a Championship club next season. This is a big game for Boro and they’ll be confident of taking something away from the game given the form they are currently in.
Wolves are flying high at the top of the league and look set to be a Premier League club next season. However, Cardiff are hot on their tails for the Championship title, sitting just six points below them. Cardiff currently have a game in hand and are set to lineup against a struggling Burton on Friday and anything other than a win for Wolves would increase the pressure on Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
Wolves have had a mixed run of form on the road of late and have picked up just two wins in their last seven including a 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa and a 2-0 defeat at Fulham. A win on Friday would give their chances of claiming the title a huge boost despite having tough fixtures against Cardiff and Derby in the coming weeks.

Middlesbrough vs Wolves Prediction
This is a tough game to call and the result could go either way. Middlesbrough are on great form and it’s hard to see them not finding the net given the number of goals they’ve been producing lately. Wolves haven’t been performing well away from home but they need to keep picking up points given that Cardiff are continuing to put pressure on them for the title. We’re backing both teams to score but without a clear favourite, we’re backing a score draw.

Middlesbrough come out on top for the number of wins in matches against Wolves with 11 victories from 17 played and Wolves winning just 5. Middlesbrough have won four of the last five meetings including this fixture last season where two goals from Gaston Ramirez was enough to secure a 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium. However, Wolves picked up all three points when they hosted Middlesbrough earlier this season. A single goal from Leo Bonatini in the first half was all that separated the sides.
