MK Dons are fighting for survival in League One and currently sit in 22nd position in the table and three points from safety. After a run of ten games without a win, Dan Micciche’s side have turned things around with two consecutive victories to give The Dons hope of remaining as a League One team. An impressive 3-2 victory against 4th-placed Rotherham started the ball rolling and was followed up a week later with a 2-1 win at home to fellow-strugglers, Bury. Those two wins have given MK Dons a real chance of staying up this season but with Rochdale one place below them but with two games in hand and Oldham, who sit just above the relegation zone on goal difference, with one game in hand, Micciche know that they need to continue to pick up in their nine remaining games. With Northampton preparing for a tricky game against Fleetwood, who are unbeaten in their last four and Oldham taking a trip to 3rd-placed Wigan, Saturday’s match for The Dons is a real chance to get out of the relegation zone.
Alex Gilbey and Joe Walsh remain out for The Dons while midfielder Marcus Tavernier, who missed the victory over Bury at the weekend, remains a doubt.
Blackpool are 15th in League One but only six points above the relegation zone. A win on Saturday should make sure that they are not dragged into the relegation battle and Gary Bowyer will be looking to pick up three points like his side did when they hosted MK Dons earlier in the season. Blackpool have now only suffered defeat once in their last eight matches and that was to league-leaders Blackburn. They’re proving a tough side to beat and have registered wins away from home to the likes of Wigan, Peterborough and Portsmouth this season.
Mark Cullen and Jim McAlister are both sidelined through injury for Blackpool while Kelvin Mellor is likely to be replaced by Curtis Tilt in defence after failing to recover in time for the weekend’s game against Southend.

Mk Dons haven’t beaten Blackpool in 90 minutes since 2006. However, the two teams haven’t played in the same league since that time. They have met twice in cup fixtures with the first being in the FA Cup where Blackpool sealed a 2-0 win and after that in the League Cup where MK Dons won in extra time after both sides found the net three times in 90 minutes.
