Newcastle United vs Queens Park Rangers Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
Newcastle United take on Queens Park Rangers in a live Championship match this Wednesday night. Read the match predictions to find out why a home win is the betting tip at St James’s Park. In their last match, Newcastle paid the price for fielding a weakened team in the FA Cup and were knocked out by Oxford United. Meanwhile, QPR lost 1-2 at home to relegation threatened Burton Albion.
Newcastle United vs Queens Park Rangers Preview
Newcastle will be without top-scorer Dwight Gayle through injury but have a capable replacement in Daryl Murphy who has been getting among the goals recently. Vurnon Anita and Rolando Aarons are also sidelined for the hosts while Chancel Mbemba, Christian Atsu and Mohamed Diame are on international duty.
QPR are set to hand a debut to new signing Matt Smith in attack. Fellow newcomers Luke Freeman and Sean Goss are also likely to see some action from the bench. Grant Hall and Idrissa Sylla are doubtful and Jordan Cousins is definitely injured for the visitors.

Newcastle United vs Queens Park Rangers Prediction
Newcastle United may be out of the FA Cup but their quest to bounce back to the top-flight at the first time of asking is very much alive. The Magpies sit 6 points clear of third-placed Reading having played a game less, so will be focused on catching Championship leaders Brighton who are 2 points ahead at the time of writing.
Queens Park Rangers have put a little distance between themselves and the drop-zone on the back of some relatively good results. They enjoyed 2-1 wins away to Wolves and at home to Ipswich respectively, before beating Reading 0-1 away. Having also secured a point from a 1-1 draw with Fulham, they’ll have been disappointed to come undone at home to poor travelers Burton.
The reverse fixture ended in humiliation for QPR when they were trounced 0-6 at home by a rampant Newcastle side (see video above). Ian Holloway has the R’s much more organised since taking over but I fear they will still struggle on Tyneside. I don’t think Newcastle win run away with it again but they should record a fairly comfortable victory.
