Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
Newcastle United play host to Tottenham Hotspur in a live Premier League match on Sunday. Read the match predictions to find out why a draw is the betting tip at St James’ Park. The last time these sides met was on the final day of the 2015/16 season when an already relegated Newcastle thumped Spurs 5-1. You can relive that match with the highlight video below.
Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview
Newcastle are without right-back DeAndre Yedlin which could afford new signing Javier Manquillo a starting berth. Florian Lejeune is another new face and could be given the nod ahead of Jamaal Lascelles who is short of fitness. Christian Atsu and Matt Ritchie will occupy wide roles and Aleksander Mitrovic will be hoping to build on his promising pre-season form, with Dwight Gayle out injured.
Tottenham have been forced to reshuffle the pack with Kyle Walker off to Man City and Kieran Trippier out injured. Eric Dier is likely to fill in at right-back while Ben Davies will come in for the injured Danny Rose at left-back. Victor Wanyama has been passed fit but Moussa Dembele is tipped to get the nod in midfield. Last season’s golden boot winner, Harry Kane will be the focal point of the Spurs attack.

Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction
While there haven’t been any big names arriving on Tyneside, Newcastle have at least brought in a few fresh faces to add competition for places. A couple of the new signings will be on display here as the Magpies look to get off to a good start ahead of what is likely to be a long hard season.
If it’s been a frustrating transfer window for Newcastle, heaven knows what Tottenham must be feeling. Kyle Walker has jumped ship and not a single player has been brought in, prompting some regrettable remarks from Danny Rose. There is a case for all not being well in the Spurs camp.
In the last six meetings at this venue, there have been two Newcastle wins, two Tottenham wins and two draws. They’ve all been fairly entertaining games and I can see this being a good match too. Newcastle will be up for it as it’s their first home match since winning promotion back to the Premier League and I can see them getting something from the game.
