Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka knows that Saturdays game against Hull City is a must win game following four defeats and just one win since he took charge of the squad in early January. Forest are in poor form, winning just one league game in their last ten. Forest currently sit in 16th place in The Championship and nine points clear of the relegation zone. Karanka will want to expand that gap and three points at home to a struggling Hull side is a huge opportunity to do that.
Portuguese centre-back Tobias Figueiredo and forward Lee Tomlin who both joined the club on loan in the January window are expected to make their debuts. Tomlin has previously played under Forest manager Karanka during their time at Middlesbrough. Striker Daryl Murphy is still out injured and so Ben Brereton may get another chance to impress in front of goal ahead of Apostolos Vellios. Defender Jack hobbs and midfielder Chris Cohen remain sidelined through injury.
Hull City are third from bottom in the league table and one point from safety following their 2-1 defeat away to Present last weekend. Worryingly, Hull have only managed one win in their last seventeen league matches. A stat which manager Nigel Adkins will be desperate to do away with on Saturday. Hull recently met Forrest in the FA Cup where they proceded to the next round with a 2-1 win at The KCOM Stadium. That win will give them confidence going into Saturdays game and they’ll be desperate to repeat the same scoreline or better it to potentially move out of the bottom three.
Youngster Harry Wilson, who recently joined Hull on loan from Liverpool may be handed a full debut on Saturday and may add some spark into the midfield. Angus MacDonald should retain his place at centre-back after making his debut against Preston following his transfer from Barnsley. Moses Odubajo, Ryan Mason and Abel Hernandez will all not travel on Saturday due to injury.
