Peterborough take on Bury in a televised lunch-time match from League 1 this Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why Bury are the betting tip to get three points at London Road.

Peterborough vs Bury Preview

Peterborough are on a shocking run at the moment and saw their winless streak extended to an eighth match following a 0-1 defeat at home to MK Dons last time out. The hosts are 13th in the table with 14 points, 6 less than visitors Bury who have slipped to 3rd after losing 2-1 away defeat to Bradford City.

Grant McCann must be wondering when his luck will change after a series of narrow defeats and draws. Given that his players aren’t actually playing that badly, he’s likely to stick to the same setup and hope that things go their way. That would see Deon moore and Marcus Maddison continue at the head of affairs in an orthodox 4-4-2 formation.

Bury have lost two on the bounce and will be looking to get back in the winning groove here. Tom Pope had to settle for a spot on the bench against Bradford but could come back into the starting lineup here. That could see Kelvin Etuhu drop back to the bench while recent scorers from midfield Soares and Walker are expected to retain their positions.

Team Predictions Peterborough vs Bury

Peterborough 4-4-2 formation: McGee; Tafazolli, Hughes, Baldwin, White; Forrester, Moncur, Edwards, Lopes; Maddison, Moore

Bury 4-4-2 formation: Williams; Leigh, Bryan, Kay, Maher; Walker, Soares, Mellis, Ismail; Hope, Pope

Peterborough vs Bury Prediction

Peterborough are the League 1 draw specialists and registered a trio of 1-1 stalemates at home to Walsall and away to Shrewsbury and Swindon respectively. They failed to take their chances against Mk Dons though and once again had their defence breached to lose 0-1.

Bury’s 6-game winning streak came to an abrupt halt when they 1-2 lost at home to league leaders Scunthorpe, landing us a trio of winning tips in the process. They were expected to bounce back away to Bradford but were caught licking their wounds and will be desperate to regain some momentum here.

Despite being on an 8 game winless streak, Peterborough have only once been beaten by a margin of more than one goal during that spell. They are tending to find the net but are having real problems in defence and have only registered once clean sheet this season.

It’s been 9 games since Bury failed to score and I’m expecting them to put more pressure on the Posh here. This has the makings of a close game but the Shakers have been averaging good numbers in front of goal and that gives them the edge.
