Nicolae Stanciu has averaged a goal every other game for his country and will be a threat from the midfield. Bogdan Stancu is the top-scorer in the squad with 12 goals for Romania and will lead the line.
Poland will start Swansea City goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański ahead of Bournemouth’s Artur Boruc. This team features a trio of BundesLiga stars with Łukasz Piszczek, Jakub Błaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowski giving them a touch of class. Romania’s campaign began with a 1-1 draw at home to Montenegro but they met minimal resistance when winning 5-0 away to Armenia in their penultimate match. Wasted chances and poor finishing cost them dear in Kazakhstan and Poland represent an even tougher test.
Robert Lewandowski scored from the spot to salvage a 2-2 draw in Kazakhstan and then fired in a tremendous hat-trick as Poland defeated Denmark 3-2. He also nodded home the late winner against Armenia and is sure to be a handful for the home defence here.
Romania haven’t won at home in 3 matches while Poland are without a defeat in 5 on the road. The hosts will certainly make this competitive but I fancy the visitors to edge this.
