Today’s free horse racing tip runs in the Grand Theatre Ladies Fillies’ Handicap at 3:15 Wolverhampton. Five runners are due to go to post for this seven furlong handicap for three-year-olds following the defection of Cirrus Minor.

John Gosden is seeking a double at Wolverhampton today where he sends Perfection and Tivoli to be ridden by jockey Robert Havlin. Perfection is expected to go well on her seasonal debut in the opener but it is Tivoli, having her second outing, that is chosen to be today’s horse racing tip.

The daughter of Dark Angel was unable to get her head on front in three races on turf as a two-year-old but signed off the season with a victory on her first attempt on the all-weather. Gosden sent the filly down to Kempton last October where she justified favouritism to make all against 10 rivals in a maiden fillies race over six furlongs.

She re-appeared at this course 16 days ago and again, attempted to make most of the running but was caught close home by Promising. She will strip fitter today and the way she battled back when headed last time suggests the extra furlong will be a benefit.

Henry Candy-trained Ortiz won one of her three races as a two-year-old and should have no difficulty with today’s trip going down narrowly in a seven furlong race at Kempton on her last outing. She receives 3lb from our tip but the lack of a race in over 200 days could be a telling factor.

Michael Dods’ Zahraa on the other hand, opened her account when scoring on her seasonal bow over this course and distance earlier this month. It was a big improvement on her two-year-old form and while this looks a hotter heat, the filly should be thereabouts today.

Elation won one for three last season, signing off with a third at Ripon on soft ground in September. Hailing from Roger Varian’s yard, the filly must be respected but fitness and the fact she’s making her all weather debut factor against her.

Line House has been campaigned throughout the winter and notched a second career win when landing a seven furlong event at Southwell in March. However, she’s weakened in the closing stages of her last two outings and makes the least appeal of this small field.

The going at Wolverhampton is standard and the weather forecast is for light showers with a moderate north-westerly breeze.

This is an interesting race despite the small field. Ortiz, Zahraa and Elation will have their supporters but Tivoli went close in a warm race recently and is expected to improve further when stepping up in trip today
