Today’s Horse Racing Tip – 3:55 Warwick 26 April

Today’s free horse racing tip runs in the Robert Walters Handicap Hurdle at 3:55 Warwick. Twelve entries were declared overnight for three mile one furlong Class 3 event in which the runners are set to jump 12 hurdles.

Kim Bailey-trained Cresswell Legend won his first three starts over hurdles and further enhanced his reputation when finishing second in a competitive handicap at Musselburgh eight days ago. The improving seven-year-old looks sure to go well again and is selected to be today’s racing tip.

Salmanazar suggested he’ll soon be back to winnings ways when finishing second in a conditionally handicap at Ascot last month and has come along nicely since his return from a lengthy absence in January. The ten-year-old is well in on his best form but still has some improving to do if he’s to regain those heights.

Bobo Mac won a maiden hurdle at Southwell last season but has been plagued by inconsistent jumping over both hurdles and fences this term. Trainer Tim Symonds switches him back to hurdles and will fit cheekpieces in an attempt to straighten the seven-year-old out. The gelding is off a fair mark and could feature if the trainer’s tactics work.

Bottom weight Frankly Speaking is 1lb out of the weights here but deserves consideration on the strength of his most recent effort at Uttoxeter. Tim Symonds’ second entry showed marked improvement when finishing one and a quarter lengths behind Kayf Moss and could be a contender here if his trainer can get a little more out of him.

Beneagles will wear cheekpieces for the first time and is off the same mark as when winning a two-horse race at Huntingdon last year. Alan King’s six-year-old finished fourth at Warwick last time out and will need to improve on that performance to have any chance with today’s horse racing prediction.

There is little appeal in the remaining runners. Kaki De La Pree, Western Climate and Perfect Pirate return to hurdling after disappointing performances over the larger obstacles while Sergeant Brody and Oh Land Abloom looked held on recent showings.

The going at Warwick is good to soft, soft in places and the weather forecast is cloudy with sunny spells and a light westerly breeze.

Cresswell Legend was unlucky to come across another progressive horse to be denied a 100% record over hurdles. The seven-year-old is raised 2lbs but this is not such a strong contest and the improving gelding can bounce back to winnings ways today.
