Today’s Horse Racing Tip – 4:20 Lingfield April 11

Today’s free horse racing tip runs in the Workflow Group Handicap over five furlongs at 4:20 Lingfield. Eight runners are due to go to post for this Class 5 event for four-year-olds and up.

Ronald Harris saddles Powerful Dream for a rematch against Wolverhampton conqueror Bosham. The progressive five-year-old finished strongly to be beaten two and three-quarter lengths, and can take advantage of a 6lb swing in the weights to overturn the form of nine days ago.

Powerful Dream, a course and distance winner with five career wins at this grade, was having his first outing since December and is expected to improve for the run. He’s been a good horse to follow for each way backers and has an excellent of making the places or better today.

Bosham is likely to go off favourite having ended a 10-race losing streak in the Wolverhampton race and on the strength of older form when running, and winning, in a higher class. While it was good the see the eight-year-old return to the winners enclosure, the performance was still some way short of his best. He was all out to hang on at the death and could struggle to defy his penalty today.

Four-year-old Roundabout Magic is a five-time course and distance winner and the one I most fear. The colt rallied strongly to get up in the closing stages last time out and can be expected to put in another bold show at Lingfield today.

Sandfrankskipgo gave an indication he could return to winning form when a close second in a 10-runner handicap over the course and distance 19 days ago. However, the nine-year-old will need to produce something approaching the form of his last victory in August 2016 to overturn Roundabout Magic who has finished in front of Peter Crate’s charge twice in the last three and a half months.

Zipedeedodah is another with winning form over the course and distance. The six-year-old has gone 19 runs since troubling the judge and finished fifth of seven in his most recent outing at Wolverhampton 20 days ago. Trainer Joseph Tuite tries fitting a visor for the first and it remains to be seen if it produces the desired effect.

Impart could be one to watch. The four-year-old is having his first run since leaving David O’Meara’s yard after finishing third in a six furlong claiming race seven days ago. New trainer Laura Mongan has been quick to race the gelding again, she drops him back to the minimum trip and has claims off today’s mark.

The going on Lingfield’s all weather Polytrack is Standard and the weather forecast for today is mostly cloudy with light north-easterly winds.

While today’s racing tip is no certainty to reverse placings with Bosham, the favourite has been inconsistent of late and it’s worth taking Powerful Dream each way at around 15/2.
