Powerful Dream has been kept busy by trainer Ronald Harris and looks well placed to land her second success of the campaign. Finishing a creditable second in a similar event over the course and distance two weeks ago, the progressive five-year-old is today’s horse racing prediction.
The daughter of Noble View thrives on racing and won three of 13 starts in 2017, winning two out of three around this time last year. She returned from her winter break at the beginning of April and has finished in the first three on all five outings this season. Improving with every run, the mare won on Chelmsford’s all weather on 12 April and was having her first run of the year on turf when runner up here last time.
Powerful Dream is off a winnable mark and looks the one to be on having won twice over the course and distance last May.
Coronation Cottage is another who will be familiar with this evening’s surroundings. Both career wins have come at Bath and she was a winner over the course and distance last August. She’s well held on her seasonal debut when finishing six lengths behind our racing tip and while likely to come on for the run, it will take a big effort to reverse the placings.
Met By Moonlight returns to Bath after finishing a good second in a five furlong race nine days ago. Ron Hodges’ filly won at low level sprint at Lingfield in December and this month’s second represents her best piece of work to date. Set to rise another 1lb in the handicap, the four year old could prove the biggest danger to our selection.
Olly Murphy fits his mare, Napping, with cheekpieces for the first time today. The five year old showed little in two outings on the all weather in March and his having only her second run on turf. There’s not much to recommend her although any movement in the betting market could give a better clue.
Sweet Pursuit won twice on Lingfield’s turf track last summer. The ground had plenty of cut on those two occasions and judging by the remainder of her form, she may not be suited to the fast conditions today. She finished behind Powerful Dream and Coronation Cottage on her season debut here and while expected tostrip fitter, looks to have a lot on her plate.
Everkyllachy produced a respectable effort when fifth in a Class 4 race over course and distance last month but is another who is more effective on softer ground. Finally Vals’ Magic Touch has done nothing of note in five career starts and due a 20lb drop in weight, looks to be making up the numbers.
The going at Bath this evening will be firm The weather forecast is cloudy with a light north-easterly breeze.
Powerful Dream hasn’t put a foot wrong this season and will find this evening’s conditions ideal. She beat two of these rivals here a fortnight ago and they’ll need to show a big improvement to reverse placings with our horse racing tip today.
