Today’s Horse Racing Tip – 5:10 Ludlow 21-02-18
Today’s horse racing tip runs in the last at Ludlow, the eight runner Ludlow Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle over an extended two mile five furlongs.
Nicky Henderson-trained War Creation should be suited by today’s longer trip and the lightly raced six-year-old looks open to further improvement following two outings this term.

War Creation made her seasonal debut at Bangor in October when 7lb claimer James Bowen didn’t work her too hard in finishing a never dangerous fourth behind Man Look.
The mare teamed up with today’s jockey Ned Curtis for her next outing at Haydock on New Years Eve when she was ridden clear of the field to win by 6 lengths on heavy going. She is raised 5lbs for that effort but has been progressing steadily and looks sure to be a big player in today’s event.
There’s been support in the market for Venetia Williams-trained Dessinateur who is also stepping up in distance. The French-bred gelding landed a bumper in heavy going at Chepstow last March and has been far from disgraced since, finishing fourth in two starts over hurdles at Exeter and Leicester this season. Improvement should be expected, coming from Williams’ yard, and the quick switch from novice events to handicaps could be significant.
Fresh New Dawn was fourth of 18 at Kempton last time out and remains in search of a first victory after five attempts this season. It looked a pretty warm contest and Richard Johnson’s six-year-old could go close if repeating that performance.
Allez Jacques and Monbeg Theatre’s odds have been nibbled at and both horses require consideration. The former has made little impact in two handicap races but had shown promise when second in a Uttoxeter maiden in November. The latter has ability but struggles for consistency and connections must be hopeful a recent wind operation will bring the best out of the nine-year-old.
Consistent Galactic Power has winning form over course and distance. The eight-year-old could be a danger if given a better ride than last time, when raced well off the pace before running on for fourth over three miles at this track in January.
Milord, Bonnet’s Vino and Samson’ Reach make up the nine runner field and Bonnet’s Vino looks the pick of the expected also rans. Pam Sly’s mare put up a good effort on her reappearance in October but disappointed at Market Rasen a month later and hasn’t been seen since.

War Creation has shown steady improvement in all her races to date and should have more to offer over today’s longer trip. Market movement for Dessinateur suggests the stable believe the gelding has found a good mark in his first handicap outing and could be the one for forecasts.
