Iley Boy has flourished since trainer John Gallagher took the decision to fit cheekpieces last autumn and the gelding arrives at Kempton unbeaten in two starts this year. The four-year-old is partnered with jockey Ben Curtis who has a 100% win record aboard Iley Boy, steering to him all three of his victories, including two course and distance wins.

Today’s horse racing prediction must overcome a 3lb penalty for his latest win, when holding off the challenge of Bogardus to win by a neck. Nevertheless, Iley Boy looks capable of beating a rather weak looking field despite the extra weight.

The main market rival is Alan Bailey-trained Lady of York. The four-year-old filly ran well to finish second in a 10 furlong event at Chelmsford City last month. Her only victory was over a similar trip at Lingfield last June and she’ll have to show improvement to get the better of today’s racing tip.

Hi There Silver is a consistent performer on the all weather and ran a decent race when fifth over the course and distance four weeks ago. Michael Madgwick’s charge is still a maiden and while shouldn’t be too far away, looks a possible for one of the places.

Ladodash has been campiagned over hurdles without success and recent flat form is less than inspiring. One chink of light is a win at Wolverhampton just over 12 months ago but the gelding has shown nothing of late to suggest he’s ready to replicate that form.

Feel The Vibes is having his fourth run back since having surgery for a wind problem and may have scope to improve. The gelding couldn’t maintain the pace at Wolverhampton last time and trainer Michael Blanshard steps him up in trip this evening.

Alexandra Dunn has struggled to get a tune from Pack It In, who has been tumbling down the weights following a string of poor results. The gelding is well in on his best form in 2016 but has obviously suffered problems and is best left alone until showing some promise.

Spiritofedinburgh remains a maiden after plenty of attempts at this level and there’s nothing in the form of Warofindependence, Patent and Santadelacruze to suggest they will be dangerous.

Today’s going at Kempton is Standard and the weather forecast is for moderate showers.

Iley Boy looks to be improving with every run. He defied a 4lb penalty to win here last time out and although 3lb higher today, the gelding can retain his 100% partnership with jockey Ben Curtis to land a hattrick.
