Bundesliga preview – VfL Wolfsburg vs Hannover 96 prediction

Wolfsburg still are without Vierinha at right back, Trasch continues to deputise. Luiz Gustavo is out with an injury and Dietar Hecking could go defensive with Maximilian Arnold or attack with Julian Draxler filling in for Gustavo and Andre Schurrle coming in on the left side of the attack.

Hannover will have Oliver Sorg switching to right-back replacing the injured Hiroki Sakai. Leon Andreasen may be pushed further forward than usual with Hiroshi Kiyotake playing from the left. Michael Frontzeck will need more from his team, especially in attack.

Possible Line-ups

Wolfsburg: 4-2-3-1 formation: Benaglio; Trasch, Naldo, Dante, Rodriguez; Guilavogui, Draxler; Caligiuri, Kruse, Schurrle; Dost

Hannover: 4-3-2-1 formation: Zieler; Sorg, Marcelo, Schulz, Albornoz; Schmiedebach, Sane; Karaman, Andreasen, Kiyotake; Sobiech

Prediction

Wolfsburg suffered their first defeat of the season on Wednesday night at the hands of Robert Lewandowski, who scored 5, against a defence that had only conceded 2 all season. It is tough to see Wolfsburg suffering back to back defeats on my occasions this season and would fully expect them to bounce back in an attempt to remain within touching distance of their rivals.

Hannover’s abysmal start to the season continued on Wednesday night, after taking the lead again Stuttgart they succumbed to a 3-1 home defeat. Hannover have only one point this season, a 2-2 draw with newcomers Darmstadt, and they are on a 2 game losing streak away from home, failing to score in defeats to Mainz and Augsburg, another tough day at the office ahead for Michael Frontzeck.

We fully expect Wolfsburg to take this one quiet comfortably. With Hannover’s poor start and Wolfsburg’s superior striking talents, a home win in inevitable with Bas Dost wanting to get back on the score sheet.
