Bundesliga football tips – Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen prediction

Bayern have added another victim to their injury list; Mehdi Benatia. It doesn’t seem as if the injury is serious, and he could even be fit enough to feature at the weekend. This means Bayern could field a very makeshift back four considering Boateng is suspended for this match. Dante, Lahm and Bernat will probably feature alongside Alaba. Costa will play ahead of Ribery who is still out with an injury.

Amid speculation that Tottenham Hotspur are trying to sign Heung-Min Son, he is likely to still be part of Leverkusen’s plans against Bayern as one of their star players. However, Mehmedi seems more likely to start in that wide left position after good recent performances. Çalhanoğlu continues to catch the eye and Leverkusen will be hopeful that they can get him over a free kick and trouble Neuer in goal, as he did once last season.

Possible Line-ups

Bayern Munich: 4-1-4-1 formation: Neuer; Bernat, Alaba, Dante, Lahm; Alonso; Costa, Vidal, Muller, Robben; Lewandowski

Bayer Leverkusen: 4-2-3-1 formation: Leno; Wendell, Tah, Papadopoulos, Hilbert; Kramer, Bender; Mehmedi, Çalhanoğlu, Bellarabi; Kießling

Prediction

As always it’s difficult to look beyond Bayern to win the match, especially at home. However with their absences in defence they will need to be cautious of Leverkusen’s quality in attack. Bayern will want to get their first win against Leverkusen in 8 months and gain as much of an advantage over Dortmund as possible.

Bayer Leverkusen have enjoyed a very good start to the new Bundesliga campaign with two wins out of two. They have beaten Bayern once at the Allianz Arena in the last 26 years so there is a huge task ahead, and with Bayern’s quality in squad depth I think the task is slightly too large.

Bayern Munich will be confident that they can get a win in this one, and even if their defence falters it’s safe to assume that they’ll score more than they’ll concede.

We say: Bayern Munich to win and both teams to score at 7/4 with Bet365
