Bundesliga football tips – Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction.

Bayern manager Pep Guardiola announced in his press conference today that centre back Mehdi Benatia will be out for several weeks with a pulled hamstring; with club captain Bastian Schweinsteiger also missing the match. Key players Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and David Alaba will also miss the match through injuries.

Frankfurt defender Carlos Zambrano will miss the game so defender Alex Madlung & Anderson are most likely to start in the middle of the back four. Frankfurt are also without Bundesliga top scorer Alexander Meier which will no doubt be a massive loss for the match.

Probable line-ups

Bayern: 3-4-2-1 formation:  Neuer; Badstuber, Dante, Boateng; Bernat, Alonso, Lahm, Rafinha; Muller Gotze; Lewandowski

Frankfurt: 4-4-2 formation:  Trapp; Chandler, Madlung, Anderson, Oczipka; Aigner, Hasebe, Stendera, Kittel; Seferovic, Piazon

  • Bayern have won 7, drawn 2 and lost 1 of their last 10 matches
  • Frankfurt have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • In their last 10 fixtures, Bayern have scored an average of 2.7 goals per game and conceded an average of 0.4
  • In their last 10 fixtures, Frankfurt have scored an average of 1,7 goals per game and conceded an average of 2
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Bayern’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals in 8 of Frankfurt’s previous 10 matches
  • Frankfurt are without a win against Bayern in their last 7 meetings

Bayern go into this match after playing a very competitive DFB Pokal midweek game against Leverkusen; the match went all the way to penalties with Bayern being the victors. Guardiola has admitted in his press conference that due to the current crisis with his squad he is not in a position to rotate after their midweek fixture. There is a chance however that prospects Mitchell Weiser and Gianluca Gaudino could feature however it is likely we will see the same line up that played midweek.

Although some teams at this stage of the season are in a position where there is not a lot to play for, this certainly doesn’t apply to Frankfurt. Currently sitting 8th in the league and 4 points off of a place in next seasons Europa League they will want to ensure that they keep up the pressure on the teams above them in case one of them slip up and drop points.

Bayern are strong favourites for this match and with Frankfurt not having top scorer Alex Meier for the trip to the Allianz Arena, there can’t be any other result other than a Bayern win.
