Bundesliga preview – Ingolstadt vs Hertha Berlin prediction

Ingolstadt will be without Roger in defensive midfield through injury so Romain Bregerie could come in. Moritz Hartmann competes with Stefan Lex for a starting role on the right wing up for grabs. Elias Kachunga who has looked impressive in spells from the bench will give Ralph Hasenhuttl options in attack should he wish to make any changes.

Hertha Berlin will continue with Rune Jarstein in goal, replacing the injured Thomas Kraft. Langkamp returns at centre back for the game. Salomon Kalou will play up front replacing the suspended Vedad Ibisevic. Valentin Stocker may come in for Tolga Cigerci to provide more support for Kalou in the attacking areas of the field.

Possible Line-ups

Ingolstadt: 4-3-3 formation: Ozcan; Levels, Matip, Hubner, Suttner; Groß, Bregerie, Morales; Hartmann, Hinterseer, Leckie;

Hertha Berlin: 4-2-3-1 formation: Jarstein; Weiser, Langkamp, Lustenberger, Plattenhardt; Darida, Skjelbred, Baumjohann, Stocker, Haraguchi; Kalou

Prediction

Ingolstadt are flying high in 8th and enjoying their Bundesliga season following promotion. The new boys are in mixed form, much as they have been all season picking up scalps wherever they go. However last time out they were beaten 1-0 at bottom of the table Stuttgart so perhaps the international break came at just the right time to let them recharge their batteries.

Hertha Berlin are in 5th place despite having the same points tally as their opponents this weekend. However that is very much down to their home form, away from home Hertha have a single win this season. Last time out, reduced to 10 men Schalke scored a 90th minute winner, which may not have happened if it were 11 v 11.

Hertha Berlin have no real right to win this game looking at the stats. However their style of play, getting the ball wide and having the quality and pace of Salomon Kalou means this game should be theirs for the taking. At the very least Hertha fans will want a point from their away day.
