Champions League football tips – Qarabag vs Celtic prediction

Qarabag know they have to score at least one goal, if they are to have any chance of progressing to the Champions League play-offs. This could see a more attacking line-up from the start and manager Gurban Qurbanov may opt to go with two strikers.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila, may have to do without both Emilio Izaguirre and Charlie Mulgrew at the back for this match. Leigh Griffiths is in contention for a start up-front but may have to settle for a place on the bench, despite his goal against Ross County on the weekend.

Possible Line-ups

Qarabag: 4-4-2 formation: Sehic; Sadiqov, Medvedev, Qarayev, Huseynov; Agolli, El Jadeyaoui, Quintana, Richard; Diniyev, Reynaldo

Celtic: 4-2-3-1 formation: Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Van Dijk, Ambrose; Brown, Bitton; Armstrong, Johansen, Mackay-Steven; Ciftci

  • Qarabag have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • Celtic have won 9 and lost 1 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Qarabag have scored an average of 1.3 goals and conceded an average of 1.3 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Celtic have scored an average of 2.6 goals and conceded an average of 0.7 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of Qarabag’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of Celtic’s previous 10 matches
  • The first leg ended 1-0 in favour of Celtic

The quality of the pitch has been a major concern ahead of this match, especially for Celtic but as things stand, the match is due to go ahead as planned. As a team who like to play football, the quality of the surface will also be a concern for Qarabag, as opposed to being a leveller. A further concern will be the temperature, which could be in the mid 30’s at kick-off.

With those factors in mind, everything points towards a low scoring game and Qarabag have proved how tough they are to beat at home, avoiding defeat to the likes of Inter Milan and St. Etienne in recent European games.

Therefore, with everything taken in to consideration, this match points towards a low scoring draw.

We say: Draw and Under 2.5 Goals at 13/5 with Bet365
