FA Cup final football tips – Arsenal vs Aston Villa prediction

Arsene Wenger can welcome back both Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Mathieu Debuchy to the Arsenal squad for the FA Cup final but both could be on the bench. Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere are pushing for starting places but Danny Welbeck is definitely out through injury.

Tim Sherwood will be waiting on the fitness of Shay Given and Kieran Richardson but both should be fit enough to at least make the bench. The main decisions will come at the back and in attack, with Nathan Baker likely start in defence ahead of Jores Okore and Gabby Agbonlahor starting up-front ahead of Charles N’Zogbia.

Probable Line-ups

Arsenal: 4-2-3-1 formation: Szczesny; Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez; Giroud

Aston Villa 4-3-1-2 formation: Given; Bacuna, Baker, Vlaar, Richardson; Cleverley, Westwood, Delph; Grealish; Agbonlahor, Benteke

  • Arsenal have won 5, drawn 4 and lost 1 of their last 10 matches
  • Aston Villa have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 5 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Arsenal have scored an average of 1.6 goals and conceded an average of 0.7 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Aston Villa have scored an average of 1.4 goals and conceded an average of 2 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of Arsenal’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Aston Villa’s previous 10 matches
  • Arsenal won both Premier League meetings between the teams comfortably this season

Arsenal finished the Premier League season with a good performance and come in to the FA Cup final with the squad in confident mood. With just 1 defeat in their last 10 matches and undefeated in their last 11 in the FA Cup, Arsene Wenger will be confident of victory.

Aston Villa finished the league season in disappointing fashion, despite avoiding relegation. A 6-1 defeat at Southampton and 1-0 loss to relegated Burnley, mean that Aston Villa arrive at Wembley with work to do. Injury concerns are adding to the problems Tim Sherwood faces ahead of this game.

Having lifted the FA Cup last season, Arsenal will feel they have what it takes to turn over Aston Villa at Wembley. There is little pointing towards an Aston Villa win and they have only managed to defeat Arsenal once in their last 9 attempts. The semi-final win over Liverpool shows Villa have what it takes to raise their game but Arsenal will be a different proposition.

We say: Arsenal to win by 2 goals at 10/3 with Bet365
