Christian Eriksen is on form and set up two of Harry Kane’s hat-trick goals against Fulham, so the pair will be looking to link up again here.

Gent have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to London, so re free to field the same XI that started the 1-0 win over Tottenham last week. That would see a three man defence of Asare, Mitrovic and Gigot protecting the goal of Jacob Rinne. Danijel Milicevic is the danger man for the visitors and Spurs already know that Jeremy Perbet has an eye for goal.

Tottenham still have an outside chance of winning the Premier League but this competition represents their most realistic chance of lifting a trophy this season. The win against Fulham, albeit against a Championship side, will have restored some much needed confidence in the Spurs ranks. Mauricio Pochettino looks set to field his strongest XI, so is not taking any chances.

Gent defied the odds to beat Spurs in Belgium but have generally been in bad form recently. Indeed, it was their only win in four matches and they will need to improve to qualify for next season’s Europa League. It will be interesting to see how they approach the game, as an away goal will make life difficult for Spurs but they may not risk sacrificing their lead.

If the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are allowed time on the ball, then I can see Harry Kane getting the service he needs. Tottenham have enough about themselves to overturn the deficit and a strong enough defence to keep a clean sheet here. It will be a nervy night at Wembley but Spurs should get the job done.
