La Liga football tips – Granada vs Atletico Madrid prediction

Granada are definitely without Lass Bangoura and Javi Marquez for the visit of Atletico Madrid to the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes. As a result, Robert Ibanez could come in to the right side of midfield but Jose Ramon Sandoval will want to keep the team settled, following a string of good results.

Diego Simeone has no injury or suspensions to be worried about ahead of the trip to Granada. Tiago returns from suspension and is likely to replace Mario Suarez in the centre of midfield, with Mario Mandzukic preferred up-front in place of Fernando Torres.

Probable Line-ups

Granada: 4-2-3-1 formation: Roberto; Carlos, Mainz, Babin, Nyom; Perez, Iturra; Rochina, Piti, Ibanez; El-Arabi

Atletico Madrid: 4-4-2 formation: Oblak; Siqueira, Godin, Giminez, Juanfran; Koke, Tiago, Gabi, Turan; Griezmann, Mandzukic

  • Granada have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • Atletico Madrid have won 4, drawn 4 and lost 2 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Granada have scored an average of 1.1 goals and conceded an average of 2.1 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Atletico Madrid have scored an average of 1.2 goals and conceded an average of 0.7 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Granada’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of Atletico Madrid’s previous 10 matches
  • Granada have failed to defeat Atletico Madrid once in their previous 7 attempts

This is a huge match, for both teams, with relegation and automatic Champions League qualification at stake. Similar to Sunderland in the Premier League, Granada have come good at the right time, winning their last 3 games, including an superb 3-0 win at Real Sociedad last time out. This leaves Granada 2 points clear of the relegation zone but with Eibar at home to Cordoba and Deportivo up against a relaxed Barcelona, nothing can be taken for granted.

As far as Atletico Madrid are concerned, a run of 3 games without a defeat has left them waiting until the last day of the season to clinch the automatic Champions League spot. Despite the recent poor form, Atletico remain undefeated away from home in their last 7 La Liga games, scoring in each of the last 5.

With both teams probably happy to settle for a point, neither will want to open up too much and therefore we could see a low scoring draw.

We say: 1-1 draw at 4/1 with Bet365
