Spanish La Liga preview – Real Madrid Vs Levante prediction

For Real Madrid, James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, Daniel Carvajal and Lika Modric are definitely out of contention through injuries. Danilo is expected to deputise for Carvajal while Casemiro could slot into the midfield. Jese could get a chance to lead the line in the absence of Benzema.

For Levante, Angel Trujillo is still out and Simao will continue in his place. Verza is a doubt too because of injury which could mean Lerma, Camarasa and Jose Mari to continue. Nabhi Ghilas and Deyverson should continue to lead the attack.

Possible Line-ups

Real Madrid: 4-2-3-1 formation: Navas; Marcelo, Varane, Ramos, Danilo; Kroos, Casemiro; Ronaldo, Bale, Isco; Jese

Levante: 3-5-2 formation: Martinez; Feddal, Simao, Juanfran; Tono, Camarasa, Lerma, Mari, Morales; Ghilas, Deyverson

  • Real Madrid are undefeated in their last 20 home matches in La Liga
  • Real Madrid have scored at least 2 goals in their last 7 home matches against Levante in all competitions
  • Real Madrid have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 home matches in La Liga
  • Levante failed to score in 5 of their last 7 away matches in La Liga
  • Levante failed to win 17 of their last 19 away matches in La Liga

Prediction

Levante surprised everyone with a great 1-0 win over in-form Villarreal in the last round before the international break. That was the first win for the visitors who are still languishing in relegation threatened places.

Real Madrid is one of the only two teams who are yet unbeaten in the league. But, the usual vibrancy is still missing as Rafael Benitez is still struggling to get to terms. The reports of indifferences in the squad with the coach isn’t comforting either. The draws against Malaga and Atletico Madrid put some brakes to their campaign and the international break brought some injuries.

This could be the best chance for Levante to nick some points off their illustrated hosts. With their top scorer Benzema out with injury, there is additional pressure on Ronaldo to make a difference. There could be a surprise in the store with Levante picking up the spoils.
