Sevilla lock horns with Malaga in a televised La Liga match this Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why a home win is the betting tip at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Los Rojiblancos come into this match on the back of a comfortable 0-3 success away to Celta Vigo while Los Boquerones were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Granada.
Sevilla vs Malaga Preview
Sevilla have two suspended players for this match in Mariano and Franco Vasquez. Their absence will see Gabriel Mercado deployed at right-back while Sergio Escudero is expected to recover from a knock on the other side of defence. Nico Pareja is a slight doubt but Benoît Trémoulinas and Michael Krohn-Dehli are definitely ruled out. Sevilla have looked a different animal since Samir Nasri has returned and he’ll be looking to supply the strikers while Vicente Iborra bagged a hat-trick last time out.
Malaga welcome back Chory Castro from suspension and he’s tipped to depose Jaunkar on the left-wing. The latter is an option at left-back but with the visitors likely to be under pressure, Miguel Torres is a more likely starter there. Weligton, Charles, Keko and Zdravko Kuzmanovic are all out injured for the away side.

Sevilla vs Malaga Prediction
Sevilla have done well to balance domestic and European football and still be in contention for the La Liga title. Their Europa League commitments are shelved until next year and they switched focus back to the league with a convincing win in their last match.
Malaga have really struggled for consistency this season. They suffered an embarrassing Copa del Rey exit at the hands of plucky Cordoba three games back and probably should have beaten Valencia but had to settle for a 2-2 draw on their penultimate start.
The visitors arrive at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan without a win in 3 matches and haven’t tasted success in their last 8 away games. Compare that to the fact that Sevilla have won 6 of their last 7 home games in La Liga and it’s hard to see anything other than a win for the hosts. Sevilla have scored at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches against Malaga in all competitions and that should be enough to come out on top here.

La Liga preview – Sevilla vs Malaga prediction.
Centre back Adil Rami returns for Sevilla following a one-game suspension for picking up two yellow cards in the 2-1 defeat at Granada. Unai Emery is expected to keep faith with striker Kevin Gameiro who took his tally to 9 goals in 17 league appearances with a brace against Athletic Club last Saturday and found the net again in the Copa del Rey victory over Betis on Tuesday. Nicolas Pareja is working his way to a comeback from knee surgery but Marco Andreolli will be out for the remainder of the season with an achilles tendon injury.
Malaga forwards Charles and Nordin Amrabat have served their suspensions leaving coach Javi Gracia with a selection headache. Roque Santa Cruz stood in for Charles on Sunday and scored the goal to earn his side a point at Las Palmas. Miguel Torres comes into contention for the right back berth after missing four games with muscular problems. Left winger Juan Carlos remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Prediction
Seventh placed Sevilla have lost once in the last seven league matches and have kept clean sheets in five of those games. Emery’s side were defeated in the first two home games of this campaign but turned results around and go into the clash with Malaga bidding for a ninth consecutive home win in La Liga. Real Madrid and Barcelona both left Sevilla empty handed while the last four visiting teams have all failed to score.
Malaga are also recovering well from a poor start to the season. Gracia’s men are unbeaten in the last seven league games and the draw at Las Palmas ended a run of four straight league wins. Malaga are unbeaten in the last four away games, having won two and drawn two. Three of those encounters were against relegation threatened clubs, Rayo, Levante and Las Palmas and this is their stiffest test on the road since the 0-0 draw at Athletic Club in early December.
Sevilla have been impenetrable at home lately and this encounter could mark the end of Malaga’s unbeaten run.
