Premier League League football tips – Arsenal vs West Ham prediction

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, is definitely without four members of his squad for their opening game of the season. Both Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky are out with injury and Alexis Sanchez and David Ospina are resting following their Copa America exploits. Danny Welbeck is close to a return but will be on the bench at best.

Slaven Bilic has both Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll out through injury, which could mean a start in attack for new signing Dimitri Payet. Another new signing, Angelo Ogbonna, is also set to make his Premier League debut at the back for West Ham, with Pedro Obiang taking his place on the bench.

Possible Line-ups

Arsenal: 4-3-3 formation: Cech; Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Ramsey, Coquelin, Cazorla; Ozil, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain

West Ham: 4-3-3 formation: Adrian; Burke, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Poyet, Noble, Kouyate; Zarate, Sakho, Payet

  • Arsenal have won 7, drawn 2 and lost 1 of their last 10 matches
  • West Ham have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Arsenal have scored an average of 2.4 goals and conceded an average of 0.4 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, West Ham have scored an average of 1.2 goals and conceded an average of 1.3 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Arsenal’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of West Ham’s previous 10 matches
  • Arsenal are undefeated in their last 15 matches against West Ham

Arsenal are regarded as many people’s favourites to lift the 2015/16 Premier League title. The addition of Petr Cech, is considered to be the final piece in the jigsaw for Wenger, however, the club are yet to strengthen at centre-back or up-front this summer.

West Ham have already played a number of matches in the Europa League and should therefore be able to hit the ground running at the Emirates. Despite being eliminated from the competition on Thursday night, many of the players who will be playing in this match, stayed at home and should be fit and ready to go come kick-off.

Arsenal have enjoyed a good pre-season and the Community Shield win was the icing on the cake. However, memories of the opening day defeat to Aston Villa last season, should be enough to ensure they are not too complacent coming in to this one. West Ham are a decent team and have recruited some talent this summer but Arsenal should have more than enough to take the three points.

We say: Over 3 goals in the match at 6/4 with Bet365
