Alan Pardew could name an unchanged XI although Steve Mandanda and Bakary Sako are both doubts and will need to prove their fitness. Christian Benteke will lead the attack with Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend on the flanks.

Man City will definitely be without Fabian Delph while Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompany and Fernando all have injury niggles to overcome. Aleksandar Kolarov is expected to come in for Gael Clichy at left-back but it should be a familiar looking midfield of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, David Silva and Raheem Sterling that supports goal-machine Sergio Aguero in attack.

Crystal Palace have failed to win in 5 outings and pressure is beginning to grow on Alan Pardew, especially given the way they finished last season. The Eagles continue to go toe-to-toe with teams and are good entertainment value but have been out-scored too many times. They went down 3-1 away to Leicester before losing 2-4 at home to Liverpool and came away with nothing in a 5 goal thriller away to Burnley.

Man City’s form is particularly patchy but they are still well in contention to win the title. They ended a 6 game winless streak in emphatic style when beating West Brom 0-4 away and then recorded a memorable 3-1 win over Barcelona in the Champions League. They could have been out of site by the interval against Middlesbrough but fell foul to a last gasp equaliser and will be keen to get back into the winning groove here.

As ever, I expect Palace to play an attacking game and that should make for an open and entertaining match. The worry for the home side is their porous defence which has hasn’t kept a clean sheet in 10 matches and has let in at least 3 goals in the last 3 matches alone. Manchester City are the tip to win here and I’m anticipating that they’ll grab a few goals to boot.
