Premier League preview – Manchester City vs West Ham prediction

With captain Vincent Kompany struggling with a slight injury picked up against Juventus, new signing Nicolas Otamendi could be in line for his first start in the Premier League for Manchester City. Striker Sergio Aguero is also struggling to make it but could still feature. Pablo Zabaleta, Fernando, Gael Clichy and Fabian Delph are all still unavailable.

West Ham can welcome Adrian back in goal following his suspension, however, there are a number of players missing through injury. Mauro Zarate, Alex Song, Enner Valencia and Angelo Agbonna are among the names who will miss out. Midfielder Pedro Obiang is also struggling but may play a part.

Prediction

Manchester City have made the perfect start to the Premier League season and will be aiming to continue that run by defeating West Ham. However, the loss at home to Juventus in the Champions League will have hurt and Manuel Pellegrini will need to pick his players up after another disappointing result in Europe.

West Ham are still looking to find some consistency in their results, with some poor home displays mixed with some excellent away performances. The fact Slaven Bilic’s team have already defeated Arsenal and Liverpool away this season, will give them plenty of confidence they can get something from the Etihad Stadium.

Considering their great away results, West Ham are certainly capable of picking something up from this game but Manchester City will be determined to make up for their defeat in mid-week.
