Newcastle are without Emmanuel Riviere, Sylvain Marveaux and Paul Dummett as all three continue to remain absent with injury. Mike Williamson and Steven Taylor remain doubtful but one of them could make the bench. Striker Ayoze Perez is pushing for a start with Aleksandar Mitrovic suspended and Papiss Cisse looking out of sorts.

After being dismissed last weekend, Watford have to make do without Valon Behrami in their midfield. However, considering the great win against Swansea last weekend, manager Quique Flores is unlikely to make any other unforced changes to his team.

The pressure is already growing on Newcastle manager Steve McClaren. Scoring goals in the Premier League is becoming a real problem and could prove difficult again when playing a solid Watford team.

The visitors have done well in their first 5 matches following promotion from the Championship. Looking very solid defensively, Watford managed to find the goal to compliment their strength at the back in the 1-0 win over a good Swansea team last week. Having lost just 1 of their 5 Premier League games this season, Watford will have little to fear travelling to St James’ Park.
