Dutch midfielder Marten de Roon returns to the Atalanta lineup after serving a one-match ban for accumulating five yellow cards. Mauricio Pinilla and Carlos Carmona continue on the road to recovery while head coach Edy Reja awaits a return date for Cristian Raimondi who was injured soon after coming off the bench against Napoli on 20 December. Left back Bakary Drame sat out Sunday’s home defeat against Genoa and could return to action this weekend.
Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has a fully fit squad with only Felipe Melo unavailable as the midfielder serves the last of a three-match ban. Rodrigo Palacio was called from the bench last weekend and is hoping for a place in the starting eleven. Striker Mauro Icardi drew a blank in the 1-0 defeat against Sassuolo after scoring four goals in three previous league games and will spearhead Inter’s bid to return to winning ways.

It was the second defeat in three league games and leaves Inter in third place, trailing new leaders Napoli by two points and one point behind second place Juventus. Mancini’s men have been more productive on the road than on home turf in Milan this season. They have earned 20 of 39 points while on their travels and have won four of the last five away.
Inter meet Atalanta at their most vulnerable and have a great opportunity to bounce back to winning ways.
