Serie A preview – Frosinone vs Bologna prediction.

Frosinone midfielder Mirko Gori is available after serving a one-match suspension at the weekend. Roberto Stellone’s options are increasing with the return of Robert Gucher from knee injury while Roberto Crivello, Aleksander Tonev and Samuele Longo are back in training training following recent setbacks. Mobido Diakite may find himself second in line to Arlind Arjeti who has covered in his recent absence at centre back. Oliver Kragl is reported as doubtful after featuring in the 3-1 defeat at Roma on Saturday.

Alex Ferrari could start in place of Bologna captain Daniele Gastaldello who picked up his fifth yellow card against Sampdoria on Sunday. Coach Roberto Donadoni has a fully fit squad after the return of Domenico Maietta, the versatile 33 year-old will provide defensive cover from the bench.

Possible Line-ups

Frosinone 4-3-3 formation: Leali; Rosi, Ajeti, Blanchard, Pavlovic; Chibsah, Sammarco, Gori; Soddimo, D Ciofani, Dionisi

Bologna 4-3-3 formation: Mirante; Rossettini, Oikonomou, Ferrari, Masina; Donser, Diawara, Taider; Mounier, Destro, Giaccherini

Prediction

Frosinone will be heading back to Serie B unless they can turn around their dismal form of the last two months. Stellone’s side has earned two points in eight games since the start of December, conceding two or more goals in seven of those fixtures. The 0-0 draw against Atalanta a week past Saturday ended a run of three consecutive home defeats and was their first clean sheet since late September.

Bologna are going in the opposite direction to Wednesday’s opponents and lie tenth in the table after registering their fifth win in eight games when defeating Sampdoria on Sunday. Donadoni’s men have travelled particularly well of late, winning five of the last six away games in Serie A including victories against Milan and Sassuolo who are above them in the league standings.

The momentum is with Bologna who have kept a clean sheet while winning their last three away games.
