Serie A preview – Genoa vs Juventus prediction

Champions Juventus head to Genoa on Sunday afternoon in Serie A to face Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with confidence after their 2:1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League encounter during the week.

The Old lady starts the season in Serie A with a lot of problems and after three rounds, sit 16th in the Serie A table, and only picked up their first point of the campaign last weekend against high-flying Chievo

The Grifone are heading into the fixture in eleventh position, having suffered two defeats already in three outings

Claudio Marchisio is set to be sidelined for a month after lasting only 45 minutes against Chievo, suffering an adductor strain, and summer signing Sami Khedira is also not due back for a few weeks, the only major absentees for the Turin outfit.

Possible Line-ups

Genoa: 3-4-3 formation: Lamanna; De Maio, Izzo, Burdisso; Laxalt, Costa, Rincon, Cissokho; Perotti, Pandev, Ntcham

Juventus: 4-3-1-2 formation: Buffon; Sandro, Bonucci, Barzagli, Lichtsteiner; Cuadrado, Pogba, Hernanes; Pereyra; Dybala, Morata

Prediction

Diego Capel is the man to complete the attacking trio with Leonardo Pavoletti still out: Goran Pandev will act as striker. Ezequiel Munoz and Armando Izzo may be in contention for a spot in defence, with the latter favourite.

With Claudio Marchisio back injured, Massimiliano Allegri could field Hernanes in front of the defence once again after a good performance in the Champions League. Patrice Evra has served his suspension, but could be spared after featuring in the midweek fixture.

Genoa have won their last 6 home matches in Serie A while Juventus are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 matches against Genoa in all competitions.
