Roma vs Carpi Prediction and Preview – 26/09/15
Serie A preview – Roma vs Carpi prediction
Having played Daniele De Rossi at the back against Sampdoria, Roma boss Rudi Garcia may opt to play recognised central defender Leandro Castan. This would mean a move back to central midfield for De Rossi with Seydou Keita or Radja Nainggolan to miss out. Gervinho may start in attack ahead of Iago Falque.
With goalkeeper Francesco Benussi picking up an injury against Napoli in mid-week, Zeljko Brkic will start in goal for Carpi. Nicolas Spolli and Luca Marrone are also injured and Marco Borriello may start, having replaced Jerry Mbakogu during the match against Napoli.
Possible Line-ups
Roma: 4-3-3 formation: De Sanctis; Florenzi, Castan, Manolas, Digne; Nainggolan, De Rossi, Pjanic; Gervinho, Dzeko, Salah
Carpi: 3-5-2 formation: Brkic; Zaccardo, Bubnjic, Romagnoli; Letizia, Fedele, Cofie, Lollo, Silva; Borriello, Ryder

Prediction
The defeat at Sampdoria in mid-week, mean Roma find themselves off the pace at the top Serie A. The club have picked up just 1 point from the last possible 6 and having played Sassuolo and Sampdoria in those games, would have expected more. Scoring has not been a problem this season but keeping them out at the other end has not been so easy.
Carpi picked up only their second point of the season during mid-week, in what was an unexpected 0-0 home draw against free-scoring Napoli. To keep out Higuain and co. will be a huge boost to the confidence for Carpi’s defensive unit, having previously conceded 10 goals in 5 matches. A repeat performance of that clean-sheet would go down very nicely in Rome.
However, Roma know that they need to win this game and with the top two facing off in Milan on Sunday, they should close the gap at the top by taking all 3 points.
