Serie A preview – Torino vs Sampdoria prediction

Torino will be without full-back Danilo Avelar, who went off injured early last weekend at Verona. Giampiero Ventura will also have to make do without Nikola Maksimovic and Alexander Farnerud, who are also injured.

Sampdoria are without the injured trio of Mattia Cassani, Lorenzo De Silvestri and Andrea Coda. However, both Antonio Cassano and Ervin Zukanovic are both available for selection and may play a part from the bench.

Possible Line-ups

Torino: 3-5-2 formation: Padelli; Bovo, Glik, Moretti; Peres, Vives, Acquah, Baselli, Molinaro; Quagliarella, Belotti

Sampdoria: 4-3-1-2 formation: Viviano; Pereira, Silvestre, Moisander, Regini; Ivan, Fernando, Baretto; Soriano; Muriel, Eder

Prediction

Both teams have made unbeaten starts to the Serie A season and will be aiming to continue that run with a victory in this match. Torino secured an excellent 3-1 win over Fiorentina in their only home match to date this season and that will give them confidence they can turn over Sampdoria. They also came back from a losing position twice at Verona last week, which shows a determination in the team.

Sampdoria have also been impressive, brushing aside Carpi on the opening day of the season and scoring two late goals to defeat Bologna, also at home. Their real test came away to Napoli, where two goals from Eder was enough to secure a point, having trailed 2-0 at half-time. Sampdoria will be aiming for a repeat of that second half performance in Turin.

Torino and Sampdoria have been finding goals easy to come by this season and the match could easily finish in a high scoring draw.
