Serie A preview – Udinese vs Palermo prediction

Udinese and Palermo enjoyed a season-opening wins last weekend. Udinese shocked reigning champions Juventus with 1:0 away win. The winning goal was scored by Cyril Thereau 12 minutes before the end of the game. Palermo also recorded a 1:0 win at home against Genoa.

Palermo easily won the game at Stadio Friuli last season with 3:1, but it seems this time the visitors will find it difficult to play that way against Udinese.

Udinese’s defensive masterclass at the Juventus Stadium last Sunday showed a huge improvement in the team compared to the last campaign.

Possible Line-ups

Udinese: 3-5-2 formation: Karnezis; Heurtaux, Danilo, Piris; Edenilson, Badu, Iturra, Fernandes, Adnan; Thereau, Di Natale

Palermo: 3-5-2 formation: Sorrentino; Vitiello, Gonzalez, El Kaoutari, Rispoli; Rigoni, Jajalo, Chochev, Lazaar; Vazquez, Quaison

  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Palermo have scored an average of 1.9 goals and conceded an average of 1.2 goals per game

It is unlikely for Palermo to use its new singing Alberto Gilardino due to red tape issues. In this case Vasquez and Quaison will lead the front line for the visitors.

Back in the 2010/2011 season, Udinese beat Palermo 7:0 – with a hat trick from captain Antonio Di Natale, 37, and four goals from current Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez. It is expected Di Natale to play again on Sunday.

History, does predict a tight contest between the pair. In the last 10 seasons they have met 18 times with identical records home and away, both tasting victory six times and the points shared on the same number of occasions.

We say: Both teams to score at 5/6 with Bet365
