Sporting Gijon vs Villarreal Prediction and Preview – 15/05/16
La Liga preview – Sporting Gijon vs Villarreal prediction.
Central midfielder Nacho Cases serves a one-match ban after receiving his marching orders for two yellow cards against Getafe last weekend. Rachid Ait-Atmane looks favourite to replace him among a number of midfield options for Gijon. Striker Antonio Sanabria has been nursing a problem with his hip but is expected to make the line up along with goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar who has had treatment for an ankle knock. Centre-back Bernardo Espinosa and midfielder Daniel Ndi remain on the sidelines for the final match of the season.
Marcelino made 10 changes to the side that faced Liverpool in the Europa League when Villarreal hosted Deportivo last weekend and could make more changes after a lacklustre performance. The manager has a fully fit squad to select from and we could see the strike partnership of Cedric Bakambu and Roberto Soldado reunited on Sunday. Eric Bailly should return to the centre of defence as the sought-after 22-year-old has produced some outstanding displays at the heart of defence since returning from injury. Denis Suarez and Jonathan dos Santos could lineup after starting from the bench last weekend.
