Ajax vs Celtic Prediction and Preview – 17/09/15
Europa League preview – Ajax vs Celtic prediction
Ajax can welcome back defender Mitchell Dijks, who missed their match at the weekend. However, talented young midfielder Riechedly Bazoer is suspended and this may result in a change in tactics by manager Frank de Boer. Striker Arkadiusz Milik should keep his place in the team, despite coming under pressure from Viktor Fischer.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila, has no injury or suspension worries ahead of the trip to Holland. However, considering the defeat at Aberdeen on the weekend, he could be tempted to make some changes to the starting XI, with both defence and attacking midfield being the most likely area for change.

Ajax have started their domestic season very well and currently sit top of the Eredivisie table with 13 points from 5 games. However, the club have already suffered disappointment in Europe this season, failing to get through the Champions League qualifying rounds and finding themselves in the Europa League as a result.
The same can be said for Celtic, who had genuine ambitions of being in the group stages of the Champions League this season, only to find themselves in the Europa League. Sitting 5 points off Scottish Premiership leaders Aberdeen, it’s not been a great start to the season for the Glasgow club and they have lost 2 of their last 3 games.
Once considered giants of European football, this is one of the stand-out matches of the first round of games in the Europa League. Ajax came back to claim a point at the weekend away at Twente and will come in to the game with an extra bit of confidence than Celtic and this may be enough to see them seal the win.
