BATE Borisov vs Roma Prediction and Preview – 29/09/15
Champions League preview – BATE Borisov vs Roma prediction
BATE have just the one injury concern ahead of this game and it’s Vitali Rodionov, who is almost certain to miss out. Otherwise, manager leksandar Yermakovich has a fully fit squad to choose from, in a match his team must take something from in order to remain in contention in Group E.
The same luxury of a full fit squad is not afforded to Roma manager Rudi Garcia, who has a number of first choice players missing for the trip to Belarus. Edin Dzeko, Francesco Totti, Wojciech Szczesny and Seydou Keita among the big names staying in Rome. With both Dzeko and Totti out, Juan Iturbe could start up-front.
Possible Line-ups

Roma: 4-3-3 formation: De Sanctis; Florenzi, Rudiger, Manolas, Digne; Nainggolan, De Rossi, Pjanic; Gervinho, Iturbe, Salah

Prediction
With another win at FC Minsk on the weekend, BATE are cruising home to the league title in Belarus. However, form in the group stages of the Champions League is a different matter entirely, as BATE have won just 1 of their last 7 group games. That being said, the win came in their first home group match last season and was a 2-1 victory over Spanish Club Athletic Club. This shows BATE can hold their own at home but then the 7-0 home defeat at the hands of Shakhtar, also last season, tells it’s own story.
Roma started the group stages of this season’s Champions League with a good 1-1 draw at home to Barcelona. In fact, Roma could easily have taken all 3 points from that game. Generally, form has been good this season but it has been away from home where the problems have occurred, notably at Verona and Sampdoria. However, a 5-1 win at the weekend over Carpi, plus the point against Barcelona last time out in the Champions League, means Roma will be confident of the win.
Despite their injury concerns, Roma should come away with maximum points from this game.
