Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Prediction and Preview – 10/03/16
Europa League preview – Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham prediction.
Dortmund will field a strong side to take on Tottenham in the first leg of their Europa League tie. Thomas Tuchel’s only injury concern is Greek central defender Sokratis who is sidelined with a groin injury. The Germans have lots of options in this area and Tuchel has been rotating Mats Hummels, Matthias Ginter, Neven Subotic and Sven Bender to good effect. Adrian Ramos is pushing for a position in attack but may have to settle for a place on the bench with Pierre Aubameyang in the most prolific form of his career.
Tottenham are without Delli Alli who is suspended after collecting his third yellow card in the 3-0 victory over Fiorentina last month. Mauricio Pochettino has been eager to protect Harry Kane in this competition and the striker is expected to start on the bench. Tottenham’s second striker Clinton N’Jie is making his way back from injury and the manager has been asking Nacer Chadli to move in from the left wing to cover.

Prediction
Dortmund defeated Porto home and away to qualify 3-0 on aggregate from the Europa League Round of 32. On the domestic front, Dortmund are unbeaten in the last eight games in the Bundesliga and drew 0-0 against leaders Bayern Munich at Iduna Park at the weekend to maintain the five point gap in second place. Tuchel’s side has only lost once at home in all competitions this season when losing a dead rubber 1-0 against PAOK in the final group game of this competition.
Tottenham progressed with an impressive 3-0 victory over Fiorentina at White Hart Lane having held the Serie A side to a 1-1 draw in Italy. Pochettino’s men are involved in an intense battle for the Premier League title and have been disappointed to drop five points in the last two league games at West Ham (l1-0) and at home to North London rivals Arsenal (d2-2). Tottenham have only won one of their four road trips in Europe this season, losing one and playing two draws.
Dortmund have less to risk in trying to win the Europa League and should be able to build a lead to take to London for the second leg.
