La Liga preview – Granada vs Malaga prediction.

Isaac Success is eligible after serving a one-match ban and should play for Granada if he is able to shake off a slight hamstring strain. The 20-year-old plays on the left wing or as a secondary striker and it may be Isaac Cuenca who makes way to allow Adalberto Penaranda to partner Youssef El-Arabi up front. Miguel Lopes is expected to come in at right-back for the suspended Dimitri Foulquier while Fran Rico misses out through suspension too. Ricardo Costa and Abdoulaye Doucoure are expected to pass fitness tests after receiving treatment for knocks.

Malaga will be without leading scorer Charles who is suspended. Roque Santa Cruz is ready to replace the Brazilian striker after playing 80 minutes for Paraguay last week and could be preferred to Ike Uche. First choice goalkeeper Carlos Kameni and defender Juan Carlos have returned to training following injury but are doubtful starters. Portuguese midfielder Duda may have to wait for a return to the starting lineup while the team enjoys an upturn in results.

Possible Line-ups

Granada 4-4-2 formation: Fernandez; Lopes, Costa, Lomban, Biraghi; Rochina, Doucoure, Perez, Success; El-Arabi, Penaranda

Prediction

Granada are putting up a fight in La Liga’s relegation battle and have lost just one of their last six games. Jose Gonzalez’ side has drawn the last three, 1-1 at Athletic Bilbao most recently, after draws at home to Rayo (2-2) and Espanyol (1-1). Granada have improved their home record since the New Year recording 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats.

Eighth-placed Malaga look to have blown any chance of qualifying for Europe next season when picking up just two wins from 10 games after the turn of the year. However, Javi Garcia’s men are piecing together some better results with two wins and two draws from the last four games. Malaga were held 1-1 by Espanyol last weekend but won their last away game 1-0 in Betis.

Granada have failed to hold onto leads in the last two home games and may have to settle for a share of the points against Malaga on Friday.
