La Liga preview – Malaga vs Real Madrid prediction.

Malaga midfielder Recio returns from suspension in time for the visit of Real Madrid. Fernando Tissone is doubtful after taking a knock on the knee at Villarreal last weekend which means Ignacio Camacho could retain his place in the starting eleven. Christian Atsu is taking it day to day with a hamstring injury and is likely to remain sidelined along with Juan Carlos and Chory Castro.

Gareth Bale has suffered a setback in his recovery and is expected to be out of action for a further three weeks with his calf injury. Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is also without central defender Raphael Varane who is suspended after being sent off for receiving two yellow cards in the 4-2 victory over Athletic Club on Saturday. Nacho Fernandez is likely to come in to partner Sergio Ramos as Pepe remains doubtful with an injured foot.

Malaga held out for 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture in September but have lost four of the last five times Real have visited La Rosaleda.

Real Madrid won their fourth consecutive game when defeating Roma 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League tie in Italy on Wednesday and it was Real’s tenth successive game unbeaten in all competitions. Zidane has yet to experience defeat as Real Madrid manager but his team has lost two of its last six away in La Liga, most recently a 1-0 defeat at Villarreal on 13 December.

Malaga will make Real work hard having conceded an average of 1 goal per game in 4 clashes with top three sides so far this season.
