Bundesliga preview – Bayer Leverkusen v Augsburg prediction

Bayer Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt may want to rotate his back line after the Barca game midweek and Andre Ramalho could come in. Kevin Kampl or Julian Brandt may be deployed in attacking midfield and Hernandez and Kiessling should start keeping Admir Mehmedi on the bench.

Augsburg have a decision to make at left back but Markus Feulner is likely to keep his place. Ja-Cheol Koo may get the nod over Dominik Kohr in central midfield and Dong-Won Ji remains on the left wing with Tobias Werner still unavailable through injury.

Possible Line-ups

Bayer Leverkusen: 4-2-2-2 formation: Leno; Hilbert, Papadopoulos, Tah, Wendell; Bender, Kramer; Bellarabi, Calhanoglu; Hernandez, Kiessling

Augsburg: 4-1-4-1 formation: Hitz; Verhaegh, Callsen-Bracker, Klavan, Feulner; Baier; Esswein, Koo, Altintop, Ji; Bobadilla

Prediction

Bayer Leverkusen put in a good performance midweek away to Barcelona, falling only to a Suarez wonder goal having out played the La Liga side for the majority of the game. That result was after back to back wins in the Bundesliga over Werder Bremen and Mainz. Leverkusen sit 6th and will feel they can take the victory here.

Augsburg are struggling in 16th position in the league, they have suffered 3 defeats on the bounce conceding 10 goals which has been an issue of late. Away from home Augsburg have only 1 point this season and a trip to Leverkusen will mean they cannot be hopeful of getting anything from the game.

We have gone for a Leverkusen win here, with goals for home side in both halves. Javier Hernandez is likely to feature on the scoresheet.
