Bundesliga football tips – Stuttgart vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction

New signing Mitchell Langerak will be unable to play in goal for Stuttgart after the former Dortmund man sustained injuries which will keep him out until September. Florian Klein received a red card in the last league game and is suspended. They have had no success with the 4-4-2 formation in competitive games this season and could revert to a 4-2-3-1 for more defensive cover.

Eintracht experienced a top half finish last year which would have been very pleasing for them, but so far this season they have failed to win a game in the Bundesliga. The season is young of course, but the absence of Alexander Meier until October will be a concern – the man who scored 20 goals for them last season. Luckily Seferović and Aigner are fit and can score the goals which should keep them safe. Stefan Reinartz looks like a very good signing on a free transfer.

Possible Line-ups

Stuttgart: 4-2-3-1 formation: Tytoń; Insúa, Hloušek, Schwaab, Baumgartl; Gentner, Rupp; Didavi, Maxim, Kostić; Ginczek

Eintracht Frankfurt: 4-4-2 formation: Hradecky; Oczipka, Abraham, Zambrano, Hasebe; Inui, Reinartz, Russ, Aigner; Castaignos, Seferović

Prediction

Stuttgart had a poor season last season, escaping relegation by just a point. They played well in pre-season this summer and scored a lot of goals, however it’s whether they can convert this into league performances, and so far they have been conceding too many. Their record versus Eintracht could be a welcome omen for them.

Frankfurt look the better of the two teams going into this one. They have a point on the board and have more of a basis to grow upon following last season. Reinartz will provide some solid graft in midfield and we will wait to see whether the absence of Meier will affect them badly or not in front of goal.

This is a difficult match to call. Both teams are looking for some form and will have similar aspirations this year. Considering the recent history between the teams, an eventful draw seems likely.

We say: Draw at 13/5 or draw and over 3.5 goals at 8/1 with Bet365
