Stuttgart welcome back first choice stopper Przemyslaw Tyton for this Sunday fixture following suspension. Alexander Zorniger will hope to name an unchanged side other than that against Schalke but if Timo Baumgartl does not make it in time either Hlousek or Neidermeier will come in at centre back.
Schalke will give Benedikt Howedes another week to get back to full fitness allowing Matip and Neustadter to continue to build their relationship at centre back. Atsuto Uchida will be unavailable with either Junior Caicara or Sascha Riether starting at right-back. In central midfield the big question will be who starts alongside Johannes Geis.

Schalke find themselves 6th in the Bundesliga, fresh off a 3-0 midweek away victory over Apoel in the Europa League. They have recorded back to back wins and their only league defeat came at the hands of Wolfsburg on their home turf. Away from home this season Schalke have had two 3-0 wins and a 3-0 defeat, so no matter what they promise a good game for the neutral.
Stuttgart on the other hand find themselves one off the bottom of the Bundesliga on goal difference only. Defeats to Hamburg, Frankfurt and most recently Hertha Berlin along with a draw away to FC Heidenheim show exactly how poorly they have began their campaign. Stuttgart have only had one league game at home this season and that resulted in a 4-1 defeat so they will want a better performance in this game.
We have gone for both teams to find the net in this one, but cannot see a good conclusion to the game for Stuttgart with Huntelaar and Di Santo facing them. Schalke are likely to continue their good start to the season in this one.
